Popular radio and TV personality Stephen Maunda Junior, widely known as Shatta Bway, has officially parted ways with Cape Media, just over a year after joining the fast-growing media house.
The vibrant presenter, who previously worked with Royal Media Services, had joined Cape Media in March 2024, where he served in multiple roles.
He was a radio presenter at Radio 47, a TV host at TV47, and also held a strategic leadership position as Director of Projects and Strategy at Maybet, an initiative run by the media group.
On Saturday, May 3, Shatta Bway took to social media to confirm his departure and reflect on his media journey with heartfelt gratitude.
“Six years ago, I switched on a microphone and introduced you to The Shatta Bway — and you guys became family instantly. You’ve been with me through thick and thin, the highs and lows of life,” he wrote. “Today, I have made another decision. I have officially left Cape Media (TV & Radio 47 and Maybet). I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and a genuine desire to see Cape Media soar even higher.”
While he did not reveal the exact station he is headed to, Shatta Bway strongly hinted at an imminent comeback to daily radio, a move that excited his loyal fan base known as the Shatta Army.
“Mlisema Shatta rudi kwa Radio Daily na nimewasikiliza… so stay tuned for the next chapter. Mtapenda. Thanks for being loyal soldiers in the Shatta Army.”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of support, speculation, and congratulatory messages from fans, fellow presenters, and industry stakeholders.
Many expressed anticipation over where he might be headed next, while others praised his consistent energy and connection with audiences.
