Buchaman, legally known as Mark Bugembe, is one of the NRM promoters in Kampala and was appointed a presidential advisor by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He was appointed as the Presidential Envoy on Ghetto Affairs and his main role is to report about challenges affecting the ghetto to the fountain of honor.
Why he took the decision to work with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
The former Firebase Vice President explained that financial hardship forced him to work with President Museveni, who offered him an olive branch during a time of severe poverty.
Despite his long history with Bobi Wine, Buchaman couldn’t turn down the President’s offer as it came with numerous benefits.
“I wouldn’t turn down the offer to work with the President. I had nothing and was broke when I was asked to start working with him, and I couldn’t refuse. In all this, I work for the good of society and not to fight Bobi Wine,” Buchaman said in part during an interview with local television.
It should be noted that Bobi Wine and Buchaman were good friends until the early 2010s, when they separated due to money-related issues.
Since then, Buchaman and Bobi Wine took different paths and everyone is focusing on their own goals and projects.
However, sometime back Buchaman was heard pleading to Bobi Wine asking him to include all former Firebase crew members onĀ NUP’s payroll.
