This year’s Grammy Awards almost took forever to happen, but it’s better late than never!
As everyone was pretty aware that the 63rd annual Recording Academy awards ceremony was scheduled for Sunday, Jan.31, and slated to be a semi-virtual event with no live audience and only presenters and performers on-site, the organizers announced the big night would be postponed to Sunday, March 14th.
The Recording Academy explained its decision in a statement, writing in part,
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.
Grammy Awards
When the day approached, every thing was well set and the show was well worth the wait, as the Recording Academy organized a spectacular lineup of performances from top stars and more incredibly talented artists.
The African continent was also well represented when Nigerian stars, Burna Boy bagged the Grammy award in the Best Global Album category for his ‘TWICE AS TALL’ album and Wizkid, scooped a Grammy for the Best Music Video for his role in Beyonce’s 2019 hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
