Eddy Kenzo Is Not The Best Artist In Uganda – Ragga Dee

Apex Body for all Associations and Federations in the Arts, Culture, and Creative Industry of Uganda, National Culture Forum (NCF) chairman Ragga Dee says Eddy Kenzo is not the best artist in the country.

Ragga Dee, born Daniel Kazibwe, weighed in about Eddy Kenzo after he was tasked to rank him among the top Ugandan musicians of all time.

The question was posed to Ragga Dee based on the successful “Eddy Kenzo Festival” that the Big Talent Entertainment boss held on 12th, November at Kololo Airstrip which attracted a huge and overwhelming reveler turn up on the night.

The “Eddy Kenzo Festival” had acts from Kenya Bahati, Mampi from Zambia, and Harmonize from Tanzania plus a flock of Uganda’s top artists perform on the night.

While replying to the question, Ragga Dee stressed that Uganda has lots of artists that many do not know of from different regions.

On that matter, he went ahead to state that Eddy Kenzo is one of the good artists that Uganda has but not the best despite being nominated for the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony set for 2023 February in Los Angeles.

He defended his point by stressing that there could be even better artists in regions like Karamoja when the rest of the country is not aware of them.

“Eddy Kenzo is a very good artist. However, he is not the best musician in Uganda. That is because there are some other good artists in Karamoja and different regions that we don’t know of”, Ragga Dee

Ragga Dee went ahead to stress that when you compare today’s music to the early 2000s and below years, the music then was very educative whereas today’s music is just bubble gum and no inspiration is drawn from it.

Having Eddy Kenzo scooped the Grammy Awards nomination, fellow celebrities took their socials and congratulated him upon reaching the milestone.
