Hon. Mukasa Mbidde urges artists joining politics not to sell off their assets

Mukasa Mbidde

Hon. Mukasa Mbidde has been involved in the politics of this country for almost all of his life, having been born into a political family.

The Deputy President of the Democratic Party has vast knowledge in politics and has chosen to share it with artists joining active politics this electoral season.

Mbidde explained that politics is a service, and artists shouldn’t look at it as another money-making scheme. He also warned that their brands will be heavily affected, especially for those who lose the elections.

“I wish them well, but they need to understand that politics is a service, not a money-making venture. Their brands will be determined by the outcome of the elections; if you lose, your brand as a musician will go down,” he explained.

He also warned them about losing clients and fans depending on the political parties they choose. He says politics divides people, and joining it automatically brings division into the fanbase.

He cautioned them against selling their assets to finance political campaigns because they may end up losing the elections.

“Also, you lose clients as a musician because politics divides people. Your fans will increase or decrease depending on the political party you choose. Also, don’t sell your assets to invest in political campaigns,” he explained.

Different artists including Big Eye, Nina Roz, Reign, Tuff B, among others, have already confirmed their political bids come 2026.
