Veteran singer Gerald Kiweewa has threatened to imprison struggling singer Record Elah Butida for redoing one of his songs without consent.
Gerald Kiweewa made the threats after hearing one of his classic old songs “Akameeme” being done by the former Sipapa Entertainment singer Record Elah.
Speaking in a phone call interview on Radio Simba, Kiweewa vowed to drag Record Elah to the police through his lawyers over copyright infringements.
I am going to imprison him for redoing my songs without permission. I am going to instruct my lawyers to do investigations for redoing the “Akameme Kajula” song.
Gerald Kiweewa further threatened how he won’t be a part of the team that is likely to arrest Record Elah Butida as he claimed that he sold the copyright to his songs to a certain limited company.
He went to alert Record Elah to set himself up for what is about to happen to him.
However, when Record Elah heard the threats he was quick to ask Gerald Kiweewa for a meet and have talks about the song.
Record Elah added that he plans to make more time with Gerald Kiweewa to have a deep talk about his music song.
