Music Battles Are Unnecessary And Negative In Society – Hon. Rachel Magoola

Singer-turned-politician, Bugweeri Woman MP, Hon. Rachel Magoola has expressed her dislike for music battles between musicians.

Speaking in an interview, the “Emaali” singer termed them unnecessary and an essence of negativity.

Hon. Rachel Magoola believes that singers are like birds in the sky which are of different flavours and everyone is loved the way they are.

She adds that It’s only those organizing battles that profit because they tap into people’s emotions.

Apparently, she doesn’t see any reason why a career should be weighed in just one battle of a one-day concert. Therefore, these aren’t good for society. And in her case, she doesn’t see their contribution to the music industry.

“I don’t see the importance of music battles apart from breeding negativity, hatred, and disunity. Musicians are like birds and everyone has their own flavor. They are loved the way they are. Therefore, I don’t see any reason why battles should be held. It’s only those who organize them that profit because they tap into people’s emotions. How can one’s entire career be judged on a single battle?” she wondered.

Furthermore, she questioned whether people would stop supporting someone because they lost a battle. And in regards to the Sheebah-Cindy Battle, the Afrigo Band singer said that they should give it time to see the adverse effects.

Meanwhile, battles had become a common thing in the last couple of months. This was after the epic showdown between female musicians, Cindy and Sheebah.
