Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe sent back to Kitalya as 18 other NUP supporters granted bail

On Tuesday afternoon, the General Court Martial granted bail to 18 supporters of Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP).

The freed members were part of the 35 NUP supporters who were arrested in December 30th 2020 in Kalangala while on Bobi Wine’s presidential campaign trail.

The Court Martial Chairman Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti granted bail to the 18 NUP supporters a non-cash bail of Ugx20M of whom some were sick and needed treatment outside detention.

Bobi Wine’s singing partners Nubian Li, his producer Sir Dan Magic, his bodyguard Eddie Mutwe, plus 15 others were sent back to Kitalya for reasons that the prosecution told the court that their affidavits had not been fully examined.

They are expected to return to Court on 8th June, 2021 for their bail application hearing.
