Papa Cidy, real name Hamidu Sekyeru, a Longtime Leone Island singer has all-but ruled out any slim opportunity of returning to his homeland, Uganda following his recent admission of being a part of the LGBTQ Pride movement.

He emphasized that the UK offers him the freedom to be himself, a liberty he does not believe exists in Uganda.

“Am tired of hiding myself, it’s time to be out. Pastor Kayanja ebyaffe obimanyi. Miracle Center Cathedral, Papa Cidy wrote, hinting at a long-hidden truth.

For many fans and followers, this revelation came as a surprise, especially considering the cultural backdrop in Uganda, where LGBTQ issues remain highly contentious. Discussions have already started online, with reactions ranging from support to criticism.
