Singer Phina Masanyalaze, born Phina Mugerwa, has expressed her intention to return to labor school to fight for workers’ rights, as she is disturbed by the exploitation and underpayment of workers.

She noted that the minimum wage in Uganda is Ugx130,000, but many workers are paid much less than that and exploited.

Masanyalaze urged companies to follow the Employment Act and pay their workers the minimum wage. She opened up about her plans during an interview on Sanyuka TV’s Bigenda Bitya show.

Phina Masanyalaze looks forward to taking a new direction in her career, as she looks forward to winding down her music career to pursue another career path.

She is mostly referred to as the Ugandan Shakira Shakirah because of the way she used to dance- shaking her waste in the early stages of her music career.

Earlier she dropped an album but didn’t get the attention she hoped it would get.

September 2023, Phina officially dumped her ex-lover former Budiope East MP Geoffrey Dhamuzungu when he was ousted by Engineer Moses Magogo and got engaged to a mzungu lover.

She introduced the mzungu to her parents in a lovely and colorful marital function that was attended by family, relatives, and friends.
