Politics is costly, I don’t think I will contest in 2026 -Jose Chameleone

Leone Island Music Empire boss Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Jose Chameleone says he does not think whether she will contest for any elective position come 2026.

The “Baliwa” singer noted so saying that politics is very expensive and takes a lot of money for one to run for a post based on the experience that he got while contesting for the 2021 Kampala Lord Mayoral race where he terribly lost to FDC’s Erias Lukwago.

He added that since Ugandans did not vote him into office, he got to understand that he is not the kind of leader that people want to steer them to the next level.

He stressed that he is ready to move onto what he understands best reasoning that he does not stick on to one thing most espcially if he fails to succeed in that particular project.

I don’t think I will contest again in 2026. First of all, politics requires a lot of money. Secondly, Ugandans were kind cause they voted for that person they wanted. I’ve always lived my life as a journey from one step to another, so if something fails, I do not glue or stick on it, I move onto the next thing

Jose Chameleone

“I won’t return to politics because people do not have to glue on one cause advising that if you try in one field and things fail to work out, you quit it and try your luck elsewhere” he added.
