TikToker Teddy Nalubowa bail application turned down, sent back to Luzira prison

27-year-old TikToker Tracy Manule Bobiholic, born Teddy Nalubowa, has been denied bail on charges of celebrating Gen. Elly Tumuwine’s death.

Her bail application was filed by Kampala Woman MP Hon. Shamim Malende was turned down by Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court grade one magistrate Marion Mangeni.

Hon. Malende explained that the TikToker’s offense is bailable, thus presumed innocent until proven guilty, and that her sureties (Nalubowa’s father David Ssemujju and grandfather Emmie Sebuliba Busuulwa) know their roles.

The magistrate then adjourned the court proceedings to October 3rd after hearing Hon. Malende’s side at the request of the state prosecutor who needed more time to examine the sureties’ documents before they can reply to the application.

Nalubowa is facing charges of offensive communication contrary to Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act 2011, on September 9, 2022, and was sent back to Luzira prison after spending more than 10 days in police custody.
