Socialite Zari Hassan has hit back at her ex-lover, Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz, for his past statements that he could win her back whenever he pleased.
Zari, who recently landed in Kenya on a private jet for a business trip, addressed the comments during an interview with bloggers, where she did not hold back her thoughts on her former partner.
Diamond, who shares two children with Zari, had previously made the controversial claim on the reality TV show Young, Famous and African, telling his friend DJ N*ked that he could reclaim his family whenever he desired.
The timing of his remark came when Zari was about to tie the knot with her Ugandan beau, Shakib Lutaaya.
At the time, Zari appeared to brush off Diamond’s comment, suggesting it was just an attempt to gaslight Shakib and make him jealous.
However, two months later, the socialite has now opened up about her true feelings towards Diamond’s statement.
In a fiery response, Zari explained that Diamond’s comments were a reflection of his inflated ego.
“Diamond is allowed to say what he is saying because it feeds his ego. Diamond has an ego and it always needs to be fed, and so it’s not about what he is saying, the question is, am I doing that? You say you can get Zari back, can you get me back? To me, I’m like that’s your ego, and I am okay with it,” she shared.
