Singer Daudi Mugema is set to travel to Istanbul, Turkey, for specialized treatment as he battles cancer.
Mugema developed cancer after being forced to dip his legs in chemicals while in detention for supporting opposition presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Despite being told his cancer was curable, he has struggled with the illness for years.
Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago secured Mugema’s travel schedule and expressed gratitude to the Ugandan Turkish Ambassador, H.E FATIH AK for expediting the process.
“This morning, our brother DAUDI MUGEMA and I have met with the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E FATIH AK at his office in Kololo. We would like to express our profound gratitude to my good friend, His Excellence Fatih for expediting the processes required for the transfer of our brother to Istanbul, Turkey for specialized treatment of his cancerous leg. I’m glad to note that all is now set for our brother to set off. More prayers needed”, Lukwage posted

Mugema will be escorted by his wife as he will be seeking treatment in Istanbul, Turkey.
We wish him all the best as he prepares to travel for treatment so that he can get it.
