Daddy Andre, a renowned singer-songwriter and producer, has come out to claim that he played a crucial role in encouraging Gen Salim Saleh to artists in Uganda’s music industry.
He made braggart comments while reiterating his criticisms of singer Eddy Kenzo. Kenzo serves as the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).
Daddy Andre stated that Kenzo ought to express gratitude to him, as Saleh had become disillusioned with musicians. He was contemplating leaving the industry due to a lack of unity. However, he informed the General that there is now solidarity among creatives, which contributed to establishing UNMF and Kenzo’s election as its president.
The Kyoyoya artist disclosed that Kenzo is an ill-informed amateur with little understanding of the music industry. All he seems to want is to play the role of a president among musicians. Andre insisted that he does not consider him anyone’s president and urged Kenzo to recognize this fact.
He went on to suggest that Kenzo should even consider resigning. This is because he has not made any noteworthy contributions to the industry. Furthermore, he should refrain from excessive talking, as it only leads to more self-embarrassment. Given that Kenzo is married to a prominent woman, Andre mentioned that the Big Talent owner should begin to show more self-respect.
Andre continued by labeling Kenzo a pretender who falsely portrays himself as knowledgeable while being far from it. He asserted that he is a songwriter, singer, and producer and has created opportunities for musicians. Therefore, he has contributed to the industry more than the Bolingo artist ever will.
According to Andre, Kenzo does not hold the title of anyone’s president except for the musicians he misled into joining his dubious federation. Additionally, he encouraged musicians to focus on earning money instead of participating in Kenzo’s federation.
