Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan is once again in the spotlight after a video surfaced showing her husband, Shakib Lutaaya, holding hands with another woman.
The undated clip, which has been making rounds online, shows Shakib dressed in all black, deep in conversation with a young lady in a maroon strapless dress.
The real drama begins when the woman notices they’re being recorded and quickly signals Shakib, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation.
Fans immediately jumped to conclusions, questioning Shakib’s loyalty to Zari.
Zari, known for her no-nonsense attitude, wasted no time in reacting. She took to social media with a cryptic yet savage remark about men and betrayal, saying:
“Men will leave you in the desert with no water.”
Ouch! She wasn’t thrilled about the video. However, she also made it clear that she wasn’t about to waste too much energy on drama—her current focus is Ramadan, not relationship distractions.

Meanwhile, Shakib tried to shut down the rumors, claiming the video was old and being spread by bloggers just looking to stir trouble. He took to Instagram to set the record straight:
“Please disregard the old video of me circulating on social media. It is outdated and being shared with malicious intent by a blogger attempting to tarnish my reputation and relationships.”
But was it an old video? Some internet detectives remain unconvinced.
Past Troubles
This is just the latest in a series of relationship dramas for the couple that started in 2024. One major issue? Diamond Platnumz, Zari’s ex, and father of her kids, just can’t seem to stay out of the picture.
Last year, Diamond made a surprise visit to Zari’s home in South Africa to celebrate their daughter Tiffah’s birthday. As soon as he walked in, his children excitedly ran to hug him, and he even exchanged pleasantries with Zari. Cute family moment, right?
Not for Shakib.
He wasn’t happy about Diamond’s presence and made his feelings known. But Zari wasn’t having it. She clapped back, calling out Shakib’s insecurity, even going live on social media to clear the air:
“If I wanted to go back to Diamond, I could. If he wanted to get back with me, he could. But we are done. Completely done. I don’t want him, and he doesn’t want me.”
That wasn’t all. She also called out Shakib for making her go live just to reassure him:
“A whole Boss Lady has to do a live session just to assure her husband? My husband is very insecure, and that causes a lot of problems.”
Apologies and Make-Up Attempts
After their online drama, both Zari and Shakib later apologized for their outbursts. Shakib admitted he had spoken in anger after seeing videos of Zari and Diamond hanging out.
He even revealed that a private conversation he had with a friend was secretly recorded and leaked.
“I was not aware I was being recorded. My friend called me after Zari’s live video went viral, and I was still upset. I said a lot out of anger. It wasn’t intended to be that way.”
Zari, too, apologized, admitting she let emotions get the better of her.
However, fans couldn’t help but recall when she previously questioned what Shakib brings to the table, hinting at financial struggles in their marriage.
