Music producer Musoke Martin, popularly known as Artin Pro, has stepped forward to address the swirling controversy surrounding his recent collaboration with the contentious artist Uncle Chumi, also known by her legal name, Mushabe Crek Haidare.
In a public statement released, Artin Pro clarified his role in the production of Chumi’s track “Who”, emphasizing that his involvement was rooted in a spirit of mentorship and community support.
“I undertake projects for various reasons – sometimes for commercial gain, but often to uplift and support emerging talent,” Artin shared. “Motivated by this spirit and my own humble beginnings, I agreed to volunteer my services on this occasion, believing the project was supported by a sponsor.”
However, what began as a charitable gesture has taken an unexpected and troubling turn.
The statement comes amid a wave of online speculation and backlash following Uncle Chumi’s claim that Artin Pro acted inappropriately during a recent studio session.
The allegation, which has since circulated widely on social media, has caused distress for the veteran producer’s family, clientele, and peers in the music industry.
“Such claims may appear trivial to some,” Artin remarked, “but I take them seriously—especially when they threaten my professional reputation and legacy.”
In a rare and direct address, Artin Pro responded not only to the public but also to Chumi herself.
He called the allegations a “serious affront” to his character and warned that such actions could have legal and reputational consequences.
“If this matter was intended in jest, I assure you that to me, it is no laughing matter,” he stated firmly. “It is an attack on my reputation and legacy. There may still be an opportunity for a sincere and public apology.”
This latest incident adds to Uncle Chumi’s growing list of controversies, including previous backlash for making derogatory comments about DJs and other music professionals.
While fans and fellow artists await Chumi’s response, Artin remains steadfast in his position.
He concluded his statement by urging the public to approach any defamatory claims regarding his work with caution and discernment.
“My commitment to the music industry and its growth remains unchanged. But I will not stand silent in the face of falsehoods.”
As the story continues to unfold, the industry watches closely—will Uncle Chumi respond with an apology, or will the conflict escalate further? One thing is clear: Artin Pro is not backing down.
