Pastor Wilson Bugembe shared his early experiences in the music industry, expressing deep gratitude to those who helped him rise to fame.
Known for his gospel hits and inspirational message, Bugembe credited fellow artist Bobi Wine for playing a pivotal role in launching his career.
“When I was starting music, he made me big,” Bugembe shared during the interview. “He appeared in my music videos, and this brought numbers to me because people always wanted to see who was with Bobi Wine. He made me.”
The pastor highlighted how Bobi Wine’s presence in his videos was seen as a strong endorsement, which helped him gain recognition and support from fans across Uganda.
He spoke highly of the musician-turned-politician, acknowledging the positive influence Bobi Wine had on his journey as a gospel artist.
But Bugembe’s appreciation didn’t stop there. He also took time to recognize President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his role in shaping his life, particularly through the introduction of Universal Primary Education (UPE), which he said allowed him to attend school.
“I want many people to know that I am a beneficiary of UPE; it’s the reason I went to school,” Bugembe explained. “And I thank President Museveni for that, as well as for the freedom of worship. You can worship anywhere you find peace, without restrictions.”
In a display of inclusivity and unity, Bugembe emphasized that both Bobi Wine and President Museveni are always welcome at his worship center in Nansana.
His words serve as a reminder of the power of gratitude and the importance of acknowledging those who help shape our paths, regardless of their political or social affiliations.
