Media personality Sovaria Hughes shared details about her early years in Kampala and her experiences navigating life alone in the city.
Arriving without a family or a support system, she said she turned to relationships, many of which were short-lived, as a way to survive.
“I came to Kampala alone, no friends, no family. I did what I had to do to survive,” she said. “Some men gave me food, others gave me shelter.”

She also revealed that by the age of 19, she had been intimate with over 40 men, mostly through one-night stands.
While this revelation may raise eyebrows, Sovaria was unapologetic and emphasized that both circumstance and her upbringing shaped her choices.
“I stopped counting at 40,” she admitted. “I grew up in Western culture, where sex isn’t considered a big deal.”
Now approaching her 23rd birthday, Sovaria says she has no regrets about her past and sees it as part of her journey.
“I don’t hide who I am,” she added. “I’ve lived, I’ve learned, and I’m still evolving.”
While she didn’t disclose her current body count, she suggested it may be significantly higher, but insists that her experiences have shaped her into the confident woman she is today.
