End of an Era: Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim Call It Quits After 17 Years

In a dramatic turn of events that has left fans heartbroken, Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone—real name Joseph Mayanja—and his wife Daniella Atim have officially agreed to end their 17-year marriage, closing the chapter on one of the country’s most celebrated celebrity unions.

The couple, who exchanged vows on June 7, 2008, share five children and have long been viewed as a power couple in Uganda’s entertainment circles.

But behind the glitz and glamor, cracks had begun to show—and now, they’ve become impossible to ignore.

In March 2025, Daniella filed for divorce, painting a painful picture of years marred by neglect, emotional abandonment, and inadequate support.

She spoke publicly about battling depression, alleging that Chameleone had abandoned the family for five years, leaving her to raise their children on her own.

  • Full custody of their five children
  • Full ownership of the couple’s Seguku residence in Makindye Division, Kampala
  • Financial support for both herself and the children
  • Payment of court fees

While the “Valu Valu” hitmaker has agreed to continue supporting his children, he’s pushing back against some of Daniella’s demands.
