Ugandan musicians Dax Vibez and Mikie Wine, both younger brothers of opposition leader and National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine, were reportedly arrested while returning from a performance in Jinja.
According to sources, the pair had just wrapped up a headline appearance at Baba TV’s Ekitudha event and were en route with their teams when police intercepted them around 2 AM.
Eyewitnesses claim law enforcement officers halted their convoy and detained everyone present, including the artists themselves.
A video circulating online shows a visibly distressed Dax Vibez yelling for help and protesting the arrest. “We were arrested for no reason,” he shouts as uniformed officers surround the group.
The clip has already gone viral, prompting a wave of concern among fans and supporters.
As of this writing, the Uganda Police Force has not released an official statement explaining the circumstances or charges related to the arrest.
This silence has only fueled speculation, particularly given the duo’s open association with the opposition and their prominent familial ties to Bobi Wine, a figure who has frequently clashed with the current regime.
On social media, reactions have been swift. Supporters of the NUP and human rights advocates are raising alarms over what they fear may be a politically motivated move.
Others urge caution, suggesting more information is needed before concluding.
