BBC’s Nancy Kacungira announces arrival of her son 4 weeks after delivery

Ugandan Award-winning BBC journalist, speaker, and Moderator Nancy Kacungira is the newest mum in town.

The media personality has explained her absence from TV saying she had taken a maternity leave.

Nancy who in the past worked with NTV Uganda revealed she welcomed her newborn 4 weeks ago.

She excitingly disclosed shared the good news via her social media handles by sharing a sneak peek of her newborn’s hand.

“These little fingers are why you won’t be seeing me on your screens for a while. I finally got to meet the hands that were punching me under the anchor’s desk every now and then. It still feels surreal that almost 41 weeks of pregnancy went by so fast, and our little boy is here now and 4 weeks old already. We couldn’t be more in love!”

Many have congratulated her on her new bundle of joy.

Nancy Kacungira (born 1986) is a Ugandan presenter and reporter at BBC News. She presented Focus on Africa from 2017 to January 2019 and World Business Report.
After a stint presenting World News Today in August 2018, she became the main presenter at 7 pm weekdays and 9 pm weekends from September 2019 when she is not on assignment, as part of her 19:00–01:00GMT/BST, on BBC Four, BBC News Channel and BBC World News, and has presented In Business Africa since January 2019, a programme she presented alongside Ashionye Ogene.
