Eddy Kenzo, President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, has suggested that artists should work smarter and improve their marketing strategies to avoid concert date clashes, as the number of artists in the industry continues to grow.
Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, has weighed in on the concert date clashes that have been occurring in the entertainment industry.
He believes that there is no proper solution to this issue since the number of artists joining the music business continues to grow.
Kenzo suggests that artists should work smarter and improve their marketing strategies to avoid clashes.
He also implores artists to communicate with each other to discuss a common goal and avoid having concerts on the same day.
“It wouldn’t have been right for artists to pit concerts against each other but now, we reached a point where we have no option because the number of people on earth continues to multiply yet the map does not expand. Back in the day, artists used to be few but now they are very many. They would release music and accord each other space and time but now there is no that room anymore”, Eddy Kenzo stated in an interview.
“What we have to do is sit and get a short-term solution which I think should be among artists themselves like giving each other a phone call and discussing on clashing concert days. If that fails, we have to look for a long-term way of sorting out such an incident. The issue of saying we will have one show at a time in Kampala, we are going to block so many artists and creatives out there. It is time we give everyone the chance to compete in this industry. There is stiff competition now and I believe it is time for everyone to pull up their socks and bring out their “A” game”.
