Singer Hajji Haruna Mubiru has reached out to Bobi Wine, urging the artist-turned-politician to stop by his H&M Restaurant in Makindye for a meal.
Haruna, once a prominent member of Eagles Production, believes that Bobi Wine’s visit could be a powerful symbol of reconciliation and unity, not only for Uganda’s divided music industry but also for the local community.
According to Haruna, the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader regularly prays at St. Agnes Church, which is just a stone’s throw from his restaurant.
“I’m urging President Bobi Wine to find a day to come to H&M for a meal,” said Haruna. “This would mean a lot to me and would also help heal many people in the area. Additionally, it would demonstrate solidarity between him and musicians, as he has often been criticized for being against musicians.”
The “Kifa Nsalira” singer acknowledged the tension between Bobi Wine and some members of the music fraternity, where the NUP leader has occasionally been accused of sidelining artists.
Haruna suggested that sharing a meal could be a meaningful step toward bridging the gap. He even extended the invitation to include a stop at Mesach Ssemakula’s Papa’s Spot, further emphasizing unity among musicians.
