As the high-profile case against socialite Charles Olim, better known as Sipapa unfolds, the High Court of Uganda made a critical stop today at Kabalagala Police Station to inspect exhibits tied to his aggravated robbery case.
Sipapa, whose flashy lifestyle once lit up Kampala’s social scene, has been on the opposite end of headlines since his 2022 arrest.
Following his detention, he was remanded to Luzira Prison while investigations into a major robbery case continue.
The exhibit inspection was attended by High Court officials, legal representatives, and key witnesses.
According to reports, the items presented during the inspection were seized from Sipapa’s home and other locations at the time of his arrest.
Among the exhibits were five luxury vehicles, fake gold pieces, assorted jewelry, high-end car rims, and bundles of U.S. dollars.
These items have become a focal point in the ongoing investigation as authorities attempt to determine their origin and legitimacy.
One of Sipapa’s lawyers, Henry Kunya, raised concerns during the inspection, noting that while the vehicles were allegedly recovered from his client’s property, there is no documentation proving Sipapa’s ownership of the assets.
“The state has failed to present ownership documents, yet the items are being used to build a robbery case against my client,” Kunya remarked during the inspection.
This visit to Kabalagala Police Station marks a significant procedural step in the trial, offering both prosecution and defense teams a chance to verify the physical evidence at the center of the charges.
Sipapa is expected to reappear before the High Court on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, for cross-examination regarding the seized items.
With the weight of public interest and the legal implications tied to the exhibits, the coming court session is likely to be a pivotal moment in the trial.
