Musician Ibrahim Mayanja, also known as Big Eye, confirmed his aspirations to contest for the Nansana Municipality MP position.
The singer now says he is better qualified for the position than all his opponents.
Big Eye explained that he is better suited for the position and believes he has a greater chance of being endorsed by his party.
“I am better qualified than any of the other contestants and am the one best suited to represent the people of Nansana. I have an eight in ten chance of being given the ticket because I have the support among the people,” he explained in an interview with a local television station.
The musician adds that he wants to tackle issues which the current legislator has failed to address.
“I plan to tackle issues the former representative never addressed. My agenda goes beyond simply serving as an MP. I also want to stand with and support our party president in this struggle,” he added.
In the NUP primaries, Big Eye will battle it out with the incumbent, Wakayima Musoke, media personality Zambali Bulasio Mukasa, among others.
