Joshua Baraka, a recording and performing artist, has revealed the artistes he drew inspiration from as he joined the music industry.
He said that not every musician is that interesting although he enjoys most of the music on the Ugandan market.
Baraka has been in the music industry for about three years and is improving. He has gone international faster than most of the musicians he found in the industry.
The singer said that when he started singing, people used to tell him that they didn’t understand his music but he kept pushing forward.
The talented singer revealed that he grew up listening to music from Maurice Kirya and Elly Wamala. Up to now, he still gets inspiration from them.
According to the singer, sometimes artists need to keep doing their unique music and they will find their fans who will love them for their distinctive music.
Joshua Baraka said that his first fans were his parents and friends, who encouraged him to do better.
“I was inspired by people like Maurice Kirya, and Elly Wamala to do the kind of music I do. As you all know, it’s very unique and I remember at the beginning some people said that I would not make it. I kept doing my thing, and now I have fans who love me for my music,” he said
