Michael Kitanda, the established 32-year-old Ugandan jazz saxophonist, has released his latest work of art, CHRISTMAS IN KAMPALA music album.

Born in Mulago, Kampala, to a musically inclined family, Kitanda’s journey in music began with a pivotal decision by his parents to enroll him at Omega Primary School – a school renowned for its brass band.

This decision sparked his passion for music, which was nurtured through his education at St. Joseph’s Naggalama and mentorship by his brother, Dr. Kagumba Andrew (PhD).

Over the years, Michael Kitanda has become a leading name in Uganda’s jazz scene, performing with top bands like Baxmba Waves, Qwela Band, and Janzi Band, as well as sharing stages with international jazz legends like Norman Brown and Richard Bona.

Now, he brings us CHRISTMAS IN KAMPALA, a heartwarming holiday album featuring a unique blend of jazz and Ugandan influences.

On this album, he features prominent figures such as Happy Kyazze, Kenneth Mugabi, Christine Kamau, and Bemma Emma.
