Dancehall musician Mudra has consistently maintained a strong bond with rising star Ava Peace, a relationship deeply rooted in their shared musical journey.
He was the force behind her breakthrough song and even managed her for nearly a year, helping shape her early career.
Despite this close working relationship, Mudra recently made it clear that he does not support comparisons between Ava Peace and the celebrated queen of Ugandan music, Sheebah Karungi.

In a candid interview with a local television station, Mudra acknowledged Ava Peace’s talent and current momentum in the industry but stressed that Sheebah is on a different level.
According to him, Sheebah’s consistent performance and dominance over the past decade place her in a league of her own.
“Ava Peace should never be compared to Sheebah Karungi. She is doing well at the moment, but that’s what Sheebah has been doing for all these years. She is a top musician, and it’s really not good to compare her with any female artist; Sheebah is up there,” Mudra stated.
Mudra, who has a well-known admiration for Queen Karma, as fans affectionately call Sheebah, emphasized that the veteran artist’s contribution to the music industry cannot be downplayed.
He believes that Sheebah’s longevity and ability to reinvent herself over the years make her a benchmark for many, not a rival to up-and-coming artists.
While he continues to support Ava Peace and other young female musicians, Mudra cautioned against unhealthy comparisons, especially on social media.
He said such comparisons do more harm than good, potentially undermining growth and unity within the industry.
“Comparison is not good for the two artists,” he added. “The industry will develop if there is healthy competition, not the other way around.”
As both Ava Peace and Sheebah continue to thrive in their respective lanes, Mudra’s comments serve as a reminder that celebrating each artist’s unique journey might be more productive than pitting them against each other.
