Musician Roden Y Kabako has once again ignited controversy by publicly denouncing fellow artist Eddy Kenzo and the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).
In a fiery recent television interview, Kabako did not hold back, accusing Kenzo of leading a fraudulent organization designed to exploit Ugandan taxpayers.
Kabako, who has consistently criticized the federation since its inception, called on authorities to arrest Eddy Kenzo, branding him a “fraudster” and questioning the legitimacy of the UNMF.

According to him, the federation lacks any legal foundation or clear mandate to represent Ugandan musicians.
“Eddy Kenzo should be arrested because UNMF is a scam,” Kabako declared. “They are just after stealing taxpayers’ money; he started up something which has no foundation. It has no legal backing.”
Kabako also voiced strong skepticism regarding the recent memorandum of understanding signed between the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), led by Cindy, and the Kenzo-led UNMF. He believes the agreement is unfocused and ultimately meaningless for local artists.
“They are all targeting taxpayers’ money, and I don’t believe in anything they are doing,” he added. “It’s a waste of time and resources.”
This latest outburst adds to the growing tension in Uganda’s entertainment industry, where questions continue to swirl around the role and transparency of organizations meant to represent musicians’ interests.
As the industry grapples with internal divisions, many are left wondering whether unity among artists is truly possible—or if political and financial agendas will continue to overshadow progress.
