In an emotional interview, Sheebah shared how her mother initially rejected her when she made the bold decision to pursue a music career.
Despite this painful experience, Sheebah’s mother eventually reconciled with her after seeing her daughter succeed financially through her music career.
During the interview, Sheebah underscored the vital role financial success plays in relationships, stating, “Even your parents will appreciate you more when you can contribute something substantial.”
She highlighted that financial independence not only transforms how society views you but also impacts how close family members treat you.
Sheebah expressed her belief that money holds a central role in life, encouraging others to work hard to achieve financial security.
She credited her financial stability for earning her respect both within her family and the wider community.
Reflecting on her early struggles, Sheebah shared how, at just 15 or 16 years old, she traveled to Kigali, Rwanda, where she performed to make a living. She recalled how every time she was paid, she would return home and provide for her family’s basic needs.
However, Sheebah also faced harsh societal criticism during her early years as a performer.
At the time, there was a deep stigma surrounding female artists, with many people wrongly associating dancers and performers with prostitution, a stereotype she had to fight against throughout her career.
