Tamale Mirundi Junior, the controversial son of the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi Senior, has announced his intention to run for the position of Kampala Central Member of Parliament in the 2026 general elections.

He plans to contest against Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, who has held the position since 2011.

While announcing his ambitions to contest for the position, Tamale Mirundi Jr. urged the voters of Kampala to support him and shower him with votes when the time comes.

Mirundi Jr. has not yet disclosed whether he will run as an independent candidate or under a political party.

“I will stand for MP Kampala Central and I’m very serious come the 2026 general elections. We have to win the election and we have to be in parliament. The way you have shown me support. that is the exact way I want to be voted in 2026.” – Tamale Mirundi Junior

The revelation comes days after he was chased out of a family meeting as he was accused of being disrespectful by his “Nkiima” clan elders.

He had been invited to the meeting over going against the family’s decision to apologize to the Prime Minister of Buganda, Owek’ Charles Peter Mayiga on behalf of his dad who always tormented the Kingdom.

Mirundi Jr. still insists that the family did not need to apologize to the Katikiro because of the many things they made his dad feel pain about.
