NBS TV producer, journalist, and news anchor Hatmah Nalugwa Ssekaaya has called it a wrap to her 17-year service in the newsroom.
She made the public announcement of putting an end to her time in the newsroom through her X-Platform formerly known as Twitter where she revealed that she’s proud of everything she has achieved along the way.
This included, friends, connections, wealth among others. However, it’s now time to embark on a new chapter in her life. Her resignation comes at time when she recently in (Match) disclosed that she had quit anchoring to create room for new talents in journalism to take over and shine as well.
She did not reveal what she’s going to embark on for the time being but she is known to be a woman of many talents. A few years back, when she resigned from NTV, she embarked on catering services a job she well executed before she joined the Naguru-based Television.
“After 17 years visiting you in your living rooms at 7pm every day, I have made the decision to sign out of the newsroom. I am so grateful for the experiences and connections I have made along the way, but it’s now time for a new chapter in my journey,” she tweeted.
The news anchor has been presenting the NBS TV Luganda news segment. This is popularly known as Amasengejje at 7pm at the Naguru based Next Media Services.
She became a household name in the world of news anchoring while at the Kampala Serena based TV station, NTV.
However, in 2019, she also made the great trek across from Nakaseero to Naguru. This was at a time the Kin Karisa-owned media house had launched a poaching scheme of several NTV staff.
Hatmah who is married with kids also owns a food business. It’s expected that she might decide to concentrate on it full time. Several renowned media personalities have quit NBS TV in the recent past.
Ruk-Shana Namuyimbwa, Daniel Lutaaya among others have all left. It is therefore not clear what is really happening at the Naguru-based media house.
We wish her well in her next chapter of life!
