Joel Ssenyonyi Replaces Hon. Mathias Mpuuga As New Leader of Opposition in Parliament

The National Unity Platform (NUP) party leader, Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has named Nakawa West Mr Joel Ssenyonyi as the new Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP).

The Nakawa West MP replaces Nyendo – Mukungwe MP, Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba who had served as LoP for two and a half years.

Hon. Mathias Mpuuga has since been named commissioner of Parliament replacing Hon. Francis Butebi Zaake in a move to exercise a smooth transition of power.

.During the handover ceremony that was conducted at NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule, Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi thanked the outgoing Lop for leading the team well. 

He also pledged that will always work hand in hand with him based on the experience he has in leadership.

“I’m glad that you (@MathiasMpuuga) has offered to keep guiding me as I take on this task [of LoP]. I’m not the most educated nor most experienced among the opposition members.
